August 25th from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm (ET)
The Total Cost of Care series of modules highlight the experience of organizations working to develop Total Cost of Care measurement and reporting programs in their region. As the country moves toward value-based payment, clinicians are increasingly interested in improving their understanding of cost, and their role in managing it. There are important considerations for organizations reporting on Total Cost of Care.
In this module, leaders from Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation, Meredith Roberts Tomasi and Doug Rupp, and guest speaker Micheal Whitbeck from Northwest Primary Care, will share the story of their state’s TCOC reporting program, by talking about the experience leading up to reporting, reviewing a sample of the TCOC reports distributed to Oregon primary care clinics, and hear from report users about how they have used the information in their work.
This module is intended for PTN practice advisors and other staff, as well as clinics participating in a PTN; specifically, those focused on how Total Cost of Care can be used to support Change Tactics related to Continuous, Data-Driven Quality Improvement and Sustainable Business Operations.
Through this module, participants will learn:
- The technical and cultural barriers inherent in reporting Total Cost of Care
- Insights on the move from making Total Cost of Care data available to making it actionable
- The specific interests of report users, including how Total Cost of Care serves as a critical building block for payment reform effort.
