Board members and officers bring perspectives from multiple stakeholders working to improve health care in Oregon.
PORTLAND, ORE. (March 20, 2013) – The Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation (Quality Corp) today announced the addition of Lisa Bode, Amit Shah, MD and Divya Sharma, MD to its board of directors. The nonprofit organization has also selected a slate of officers to lead the board over the next two-year term. Quality Corp’s board officers for 2013 and 2014 include Board Chair Steve Marks, MD; Vice Chair Thomas Syltebo, MD; Secretary Michael Cooper, RN, MN; and Treasurer Grieg Anderson.
The new board members bring the perspectives of purchasers and providers, as well as a broad statewide reach, to Quality Corp’s work to improve the quality and affordability of health care in Oregon. Lisa Bode is the vice president of employee shareholder relations at JELD-WEN Inc. in Klamath Falls Oregon, where she leads the division responsible for the company’s North American benefits, human resources and compensation for 8700 employees. Amit Shah, MD is the medical director at CareOregon and previously served as the medical director for the Multnomah County Health Department. Divya Sharma, MD, is an internal medicine physician, medical director at the Bend clinic of Mosaic Medical and the medical director of the Central Oregon Independent Practice Association in Bend, Oregon.
The board officers named today have longstanding relationships with Quality Corp. Dr. Marks, who recently retired as chief medical officer for PacificSource Health Plans, has served on Quality Corp’s board since 2002. Dr. Syltebo, clinical quality representative at Kaiser Permanente, joined Quality Corp’s board in 2009. Michael Cooper has served on Quality Corp’s board since 2001 and is the director of state and private services at Acumentra Health. Grieg Anderson joined the board in 2007 as a consumer representative from the American Diabetes Association and Oregon Diabetes Coalition. Grieg, a retired executive from Portland General Electric, has served as treasurer since 2011.
